Pre-Booking FAQ’s

  • Book your wedding in 5 easy steps!

    1) Fill out the Bridal Inquiry Form, and include as much detail as possible about your wedding. We understand you may not have all of the information (ie. “ready-by” time) and that’s okay!

    2) Receive a quote! In response to your initial inquiry, you will receive a detailed quote which will also include an approximate time-block to complete all requested services.

If applicable, your quote may include other fees such as:

    - Travel
    - Parking
    - Artists/Assistants
    - Forced Collaborations
    - Early Morning Starts (before 7AM)
    - Major Holidays (ie. long weekends)
    - Other Special Requests

*There are artist minimums to book a Friday, Saturday and Sunday date between May-October of every year. Please review the booking terms and conditions here before your inquire.

    3) Secure your date! Review the quote, and if you’re ready to secure your date, just send your retainer and request your contract. After these two items are complete, you’re officially booked!

    4) Schedule your bridal preview! During your bridal preview we take the time to get to know you, chat about your wedding details, and discuss your bridal beauty vision. We suggest you schedule your bridal preview 1-2 months before your wedding so your skin tone/condition and hair length, colour and texture is most reflective of what it may be like on your wedding day.

    5) It’s the big day! Expect us to be on site appx. 15 minutes before your start-time for set up. Then you can relax and enjoy your wedding beauty experience! 👰🏽

  • Yes! We have a dedicated team and can provide up to 30 services (ie. 15 makeup, 15 hair). The number of services we can accommodate is subject to artist availability. Please inquire at least a year in advance if you have a large bridal party (10 or more makeup and hair services).

  • Yes! Mobile services are our specialty! We come to wherever you are and provide makeup and hair services on-site. Travel is complimentary within a 15 km radius from our location.

  • Yes we do, but since we provide both makeup and hair services, a forced collaboration fee will apply for the extra logistics involved in this. If we don’t have enough artists to accommodate your entire party, this fee will be waved.

*Please be aware that some salons do not allow freelance artists to work within their space. Due to this, we recommend checking with your salon before booking with us. We also may require an earlier start-time (7AM) so check if it’s an option to have the salon open earlier for us to set-up.

  • Yes. Minimums apply on weekend dates from May to October of every year.

Our current booking minimums are as follows:

    GRACIE’S
    $870.00 (ie. Bride+4) on a Friday/Saturday
    $715.00 (ie. Bride+3) on a Sunday

    ARTIST’S
    $640.00 (ie. Bride+4) on a Friday/Saturday
    $525.00 (ie. Bride+3) on a Sunday

*Minimums are based on the total cost of services, not on the type of services. For example, both bride+4 makeup OR bride+2 hairstyles with hair extensions added, can meet the minimum. Each artist must meet their minimum to accompany a booking. Bridal previews do not count towards the minimum as these services are conducted on a different day.

  • If you’re short a service or two, there are a couple options:

    1) Add a friend/family member. We all know that one person who helped with the wedding prep more than we expected, so adding them in is a nice way to show your appreciation!

    2) Add extra services to reach the minimum. Hair extensions, advanced contouring, or body makeup are all great add on’s that will elevate you and your party’s overall look!

*If extra services are not required a surcharge will apply to reach the minimum.

  • Yes, because the term “natural” is very subjective, the price is the same. Most of the time “natural” makeup looks aren’t actually natural at all. Often the products used during the application are just natural colours like brown, pink and nude. Creating a natural makeup look can also be more challenging as it requires more skin prep and meticulous detail work.

  • No. Lashes are included in every makeup application as it completes the look and is part of the service. Coming with your existing lash extensions or refusing to have false lashes applied is a personal preference so it does not change the service pricing.

  • Yes, because there are actually many down styles that take more time than up-do’s! Vintage/Hollywood waves for example, take 1-1.5 hours to do properly and up to 2 hours if you require hair extensions. Equal attention is given to all styles so the pricing is consistent.

*Extra long hair (past elbows), or thick hair is an extra charge as styling takes more time.

  • Yes! Please send an email to info@graciemyersbeauty.ca with a photo of your desired hairstyle as well as photos of your natural hair, and we can advise you.

*Most of the time when you see photos of models online with full, voluminous hairstyles, they have hair extensions. I (Gracie) have very thick, long hair, and I still wore extensions on my wedding day. It makes a big difference especially for down-styles like vintage waves!

  • Yes! We can absolutely source extensions for you and also install and style them.

The cost of hair extensions depends on the colour, length and the amount of tracks needed for your desired style. Most real-hair extensions fall between the $100-$350 price point, so it is definitely an investment. However, with proper care you will have them forever.

The instillation and styling of clip-in hair extensions, whether pre-owned, or sourced by us is +$40-$45/person. Extension services add extra time to each time-slot, so please book this in advance to ensure we have enough time and artists on-site. Please inquire for more details.

  • No! If you have sewn-in wefts, tape-ins/weaves, fusions, pre-bonds, micro (nano) links or even a wig, there is no extra charge for this. Since the hair is already installed we just style it as usual and if you have a wig we just style it while on you!

  • Yes! We carry every foundation shade, or we can customize your perfect shade on-site. We bring every shade to every booking, as well as a variety of formulas to best suite your skin type, concerns and preferred level of coverage.

  • No. So much chemistry goes into a makeup application, and we have the best products for the job. We know how all of our products work together so adding unfamiliar items into the mix is not a good idea. If you insist that we use your personal products, please understand that we will not be held liable for how those products perform throughout the day.

  • Please make us aware of any and all known cosmetic allergies and/or sensitivities you may have. We likely have items that will work for you, but if you are still concerned it’s best to book a makeup preview before the event day to be safe.

  • No, but they are highly recommended! When you find a photo you like, it's important to see how those colours and textures translate on to your skin. A preview allows us to customize the perfect look for you and make any necessary adjustments. Previews are conducted in-studio Monday to Thursday as weekend dates are most often booked up with weddings and special events.

  • Yes! However, booking a preview does not secure your wedding date. If another bride inquires about your date, you will receive a courtesy e-mail to notify you. A date is only secured with a retainer and signed contract.

  • It takes 1 - 2 hours for makeup OR hair and 2 - 3 hours for makeup AND hair. If you have Add-on Services such as hair extensions, advanced contouring or body makeup or have extra long/thick hair, or additional skin concerns, you can expect to sit for up to 4 hours.

*For this reason, try not to book your preview during an important event. We understand wanting to “double up” on your beauty services, but remember that the purpose of your preview is for us to take the time to perfect your bridal look!

  • Schedule your bridal preview to be 1-2 months before your wedding day. This will ensure your hair colour/length and skin tone/condition is consistent with what it will likely be like on your wedding day.

If you plan on getting a spray tan for your wedding, book your spray tan trial 2 days before your bridal preview. Makeup will look different depending on your skin tone, so it’s good to be able to see the whole picture before your wedding!

To book your preview email Gracie at info@graciemyersbeauty.ca or click the link HERE!

  • Yes, however, previews are very time and labour intensive so they cost the same as a bridal preview. Instead, we suggest you just book an in-studio event makeup or hair service. This 1-2 hour slot is usually enough time to discuss any concerns you may have to put your mind at ease. Book it here!

*Event services can be booked on the weekend but previews are only conducted Monday-Thursday.

  • Cleanse your face, neck and decolletage before your appointment to ensure proper removal of any existing products. You may apply a bit of light moisturizer after, but avoid using SPF, or actives such as retinal, AHA, BHA, Vitamin C and silicones.

  • Shampoo your hair 2 times the day before your appointment focusing on the root area. Condition your mid-lengths down only, rinse thorougly then pat dry with a towel (avoid rubbing).

Blow-dry your hair smooth with a brush to ensure it’s completely dry before bed. For added volume and control, apply a styling product before blow-drying.

See below for the best products to use for your hair type:

Volumizing Mousse + Heat Protectant - straight/limp hair
    ❥ Thickening Spray/Cream + Heat Protectant - fine hair
Smoothing Serum + Heat Protectant - curly/frizzy hair.

  • Yes! Flawless makeup starts with flawless skin! Gentle facials, derma planning and hydrogel masks are all great treatments that will help create that bridal glow.

See below for the suggested time to wait after receiving these popular treatments:

❥ Hydrating Facials: 1 day before.
    ❥ Derma-planing: 1-2 days before.
❥ Facial waxing: 2-3 days before.

Always ask your aesthetician how long to wait if you are receiving any invasive procedures ie. chemical peels, laser resurfacing, micro-needing, vampire facials etc.

  • The (biased) answer is yes!

Professional cameras capture 2D images, meaning that the natural curvatures of the face which are obvious in real life, appear much flatter in photo and video.

Experienced makeup artists have the necessary skills to apply products in a way that adds extra dimension to the face, thus helping your face to “pop” in photos. The right amount of makeup ensures that you look youthful and fresh, but is just enough for the cameras to keep you from getting lost in the scenery. So even if you don’t wear makeup every day, it definitely makes a difference on your wedding day!

  • I personally love spray tans! The right colour tan looks beautiful on every skin tone and will help to even out minor blemishes and discolourations. Be sure to book a package of at least 2 tans so you can do a trial run before the big day (and have it for your bridal preview).

Get your spray tan 2 days before your wedding to make sure it’s completely developed.

❥ I highly recommend Whitney at Faux Glo - she’s the best!
